Last year's hit - and returning again!
The 67th Annual Sapporo Snow Festival featuring enormous snow and ice statues starts tomorrow for one week. You can enjoy three sites - Odori, Tsudome and Susukino. Many people from around the world gather to marvel at these amazing snow and ice sculptures.
You can also enjoy sliding down huge snow slides, ice skating, watch ski jumping aerial shows, and eat delicious Hokkaido food - a must for any Hokkaido event!
A favorite is the International Snow Carving Contest. Countries from around the world are represented in this contest. The fine detail and intricate carving representing the different cultures are amazing to see.
Don't forget to keep warm, as temperatures are usually below freezing. And don't forget to come twice - once during the day, and once at night. Night features some beautiful light ups that just take your breath away.
And afterwards, don't forget to get some skiing at our famous powder snow resorts with Good Sports Bus and Ski Rentals. See you there!
